Sharing God’s Message

What emotion stirs inside you when you hear the sound of a bullhorn? Many times, evangelists can act like bullhorns. They shut their eyes and ears, but their mouths are wide open because they are shouting at full blast about how others are unrighteous! Evangelism can become confrontational. There may be a temptation to become impersonal when telling others about Christ, but His message is one of profound love. God has given each individual a unique voice. Only by relying on His strength and absorbing His word can a person be taught how to righteously spread His beautiful message.

God and His teachings are like a torch that offers light and warmth to a dark world. The reason why God’s children should want to speak about His message is because He was the one that saved them from darkness. 1 Peter 2:9-10 says, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” Since God is a light of compassion and patience to the world, evangelism should also be done with love and gentleness. 2 Timothy 4:1-2 reads, “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”

Speaking God’s message can be daunting and uncomfortable, but remember that He has overcome the world. Isaiah 62:6-7 says, “You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” Like a child who runs to their parent for help, lean on God’s strength through constant prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says,” Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” God wants to renew, strengthen, and guide every person on Earth with His life changing message. This goal can only be achieved if His children are willing to rely on His strength to spread His message. How will God’s message confidently shine through your voice?
