ELDERS

While we are part of the Lord's universal body of New Testament Christians, we follow the pattern of organization as outlined in Scripture which dictates autonomous, locally-goverened congregations (1 Peter 5:1-5). Our family at West Mason looks like the congregations that are shown in the Bible, composed of elders, deacons and members (Philippians 1:1).

We are blessed to have eight elders overseeing the souls in this local congregation (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-16):

Gary Bryant

Mike Clemons

Michael Hawk

Kevin Mullins

Wayne French

Randy Taylor

Scott Taylor

Brian Weaver

These men shepherd the congregation with a desire to help all grow in their relationship with Christ. They set priorities, manage the work of the church as a collective body, and make decisions that are in line with God's revealed will for His people.

In addition, we have seven deacons who serve the congregation in various capacities under the guidance and direction of the elders (I Timothy 3:8-13):

Eric Booker

Jonathan Compton

Tyler Hall

Sean McCarty

Drew Tabor

John Tabor

Elliott Van Skaik

PREACHERS

We are blessed at West Mason to employ two full-time preachers who seek to proclaim God's word to the Christians at West Mason and the community at large.

Scott Taylor has been the preacher at West Mason since 2004. Before that, he preached at the Mill Road church of Christ in Cincinnati starting in 1999. He and his family continue to teach our congregation from God's word. Scott dedicates his time and energy to the faithful preaching of God's word "with complete patience and teaching" (2 Timothy 4:1-5).

Tyler Hall began his preaching career at West Mason in 2017. Before this, he had voluntarily preached by appointment in the greater Dayton area for five years. He and his wife Leigh are dedicated to strengthening their brothers and sisters in the church and furthering God's kingdom in the greater Mason area. Tyler pursues these responsibilities with love from a pure heart, a good conscience and a sincere faith (1 Timothy 1:5).

If you'd like to sit down with Scott and/or Tyler to talk about God, faith, the Bible or any spiritual topic, you can reach them from our contact page.
