God Is Counting on You

This is not an article about our work in the kingdom. Instead, consider with me a few things in our lives which God counts:

He counts the hairs on your head. Matthew 10:29-31 explains that God knows each of the hairs on your head, just as He keeps track of every star in the sky (Isaiah 40:26). He created you. (Yes, you, reading this.) He knows you better than you know yourself, and He has made you for a glorious and God-focused purpose (see Ephesians 2:10).

He counts the tears that you shed. Psalm 56:8 assures the aching heart that God knows our troubles: “You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?” No matter what you struggle with this week, your Father knows better than anyone and is there to help!

He counts the days of your life. If ever there was proof of God’s accounting of each life He creates, Psalm 139 is it. Verse 16 says that each day of our lives is already recorded from where God sits in eternity. Wisdom demands that we number our days also (Psalm 90:12). Knowing He will be with me each one of those days is a good start; it is up to me if I will use that time to live for Him, so as to be with Him forever.

Because God counts so much of our lives, we know that we can count on Him—no matter what.
